Party Poker
Party Poker has tens of thousands of players on-line at any given time of the day and is the largest poker room online. With all of these players available, Sit and Go tournaments have been known to fill up in less than a minute. With Party Poker it's not so much waiting for a game to start, as attempting to find an unoccupied seat from which to play.
Party Poker offers Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi, Omaha 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud 8 or Better poker games in limit, pot limit and no-limit formats. Ring games, single table tournaments, and multi-table tournaments are offered. Although Party Poker has great ring games it is in tournaments that they excel as a poker room. Party poker has been responsible for several guaranteed on-line Million Dollar tournaments, and they run a huge World Poker Tour event, The Party Poker Million. This tournament allows players to get into a big payoff situation for little cash outlay. The tournament starts off with on-line satellite tournaments with the low entry fee of $32, and ends up in a face-to-face poker tournament on a luxury cruise ship. The prize pool is worth an estimated $7,000,000 and is shared by the top 180 place winners.
While most of the attention directed toward Party Poker is centered on the huge feature tournaments they also offer a lot of more modest tournaments. For players who want to play in a tournament without having to wait for a regular tournament to start Party Poker offers single and multi-table Sit and Go tournaments. Another type of tournament Party Poker runs is STEP tournaments. STEP tournaments are a series of small tournaments (one series features 10 player tables while another series is available for 20 player tables) through which a player progresses. Successful players end up at the fifth and final tournament where the top four places share a pot of $20,000 for the 20 player series and $10,000 for the 10 player series. A player can enter the STEP tournament series for a total buy in fee of $12 and the successful winner at step five wins either $9,000 (20 player tables) or $4,500 (10 player tables).
There are different bonuses available at Party Poker; an introductory welcome bonus for new players and the regular point reward system for those who play regularly. A first time player will be given $25 in bonus money as an introductory bonus for simply making a small deposit, if they choose to make a larger deposit they will be given 20% of the value of the deposit in bonus money ($100 maximum). For new tournament players a bonus of free entry into the Party Poker Million, Party Pokers World Poker Tournament event is awarded. Those regular Party Poker members who spend time playing at the real money poker tables are awarded Party Points. Players can accumulate these Party Points and redeem them for merchandise.
